The Senior Engineer (Water, Wastewater and Stormwater) is a key role within Gladstone Regional Councils Strategic Asset Performance work group.

A key focus of this position is to provide technical advice and design asset solutions that balance the whole of life costs to ensure maximum value can be obtained from Council's Water, Wastewater and Stormwater assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete investigations, option studies, concept designs, detail designs and technical specifications to required engineering standards for three waters services.
  • Review and sign off design drawings and associated cost estimations and documentation.
  • Project manage external consultants and contractors to meet program deliverables.
  • Project scoping, specifications and estimating.
  • Develop and implement techniques, work practices and procedures in the work area to achieve organisational goals and operational efficiency.

Success Profile:

  • Substantial experience in a similar role within private sector, Local Government or related entity.
  • Tertiary Civil Engineering qualifications.
  • RPEQ or the ability to gain over a short period.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Civil and water infrastructure Engineering design software packages.
  • Structured, responsible, accountable and has a strong customer focus (internal and external).
  • Experience in the application of Water Engineering Design Guidelines, relevant acts and regulations, engineering guidelines and standards.
