The Whitsunday Regional Council seeks a strategic and future focused Director Engineering Services to lead and maximise the performance of the Engineering Services Department for the benefit of the community.
The council has recently appointed a new CEO, and the Director Engineering Services will be a key member of the executive leadership team in delivering on Council's operational and corporate plan.
The Opportunity
The Director of Engineering Services is responsible for providing high-level strategic advice while leading a large multi-disciplinary team across water, waste, the quarry, roads, drainage and disaster management. It is an exciting time to join Council and lead a significant program of works underway across the region, including marine projects that will bring greater prosperity to the community.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Proven experience working in a similar role, ideally in local government
- Highly developed understanding of Engineering and Project Management concepts as well as financial and business management capability
- Engineering Qualifications
- RPEQ Registration
