As the Asset Management and GIS Coordinator you will perform a leading role in data collection and administration for the Infrastructure Services department at Balonne Shire Council. You will be working with project teams, finalising asset registration for capital works and maintenance. In this busy role, you will rise to the challenge of bringing systems up to date with accurate data to provide the foundation of asset planning for the shire.
This is a great opportunity to progress your career in asset management and GIS. It is a coordinator level position and could give you the necessary skills and experience to progress to a management level role.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Data collection using GPS and MapInfo;
- Ensuring the asset register is kept up to date;
- Providing input into asset management plans, operational and capital budgets; and
- Providing assistance with Project Control for capital and maintenance works.
You will use your administrative and technical skills in MapInfo to provide accurate and reliable information on all of Council's assets and manage the asset register. You will have well developed numeracy, written and verbal communication skills. This role gives you the opportunity to work on site, collecting data, as well as in the Infrastructure Services office.
You will have the ability to adapt to change and identify opportunities for improvement. You will work alongside a small team and you will be expected to manage your own work.
