The Opportunity
The role will focus on developing strategy, systems and processes to provide right sized compliant solutions for water, wastewater and waste services for the community. Experience in project management in this area is highly desirable.
An ambitious Zero Waste Strategy has recently been developed by Council that will provide significant opportunity for the new manager to make a visible contribution through leadership of a number of project activities. Your ability to meet targets and improve community satisfaction with regards to water, waste water and waste infrastructure services and delivery will be essential to your success.
Challenges in the role include the provision of equitable service standards across the Council area in a diverse range of towns and villages. Some water and wastewater infrastructure renewal has been forecast.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive experience in water and wastewater and waste utilities business
- Experience in developing and implementing strategies for water and waste that drive improvements in service standards
- Working knowledge of best practice waste minimisation, resource recovery and waste management
- The ability to collaborate with stakeholders across council and engage with the community regarding water and waste
- A demonstrated commitment to responsive and proactive customer service
