North Burnett Regional Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Technical Officer (Facilities) to join the team in providing exceptional services to the community. As Senior Technical Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing projects and ensuring their timely and efficient delivery, as well as providing technical advice and guidance to the Council and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, assess, and develop infrastructure/ facility asset management strategies, plans, and programs.
Develop and implement business best practice, processes, and procedures for the facilities management team.
Provide technical advice and guidance to the Council and community stakeholders.
Oversee technical projects ensuring their timely and efficient delivery.
Manage budgets and resources effectively.
Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Conduct audits, property assessments, and general inspections to ensure infrastructure/facility asset maintenance and upgrades comply with strategic outcomes.
Provide technical support to Council staff and stakeholders.
Manage and monitor capital and maintenance projects, including quotations/ tenders, contracts, and contractor performance.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to the position (e.g. building trade qualifications, Project Management, Certificate IV in Building and Construction).
Relevant experience in a similar role within Local Government or the private sector.
Well-developed communication, consultative, interpersonal, and negotiating skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of and technical expertise in relation to building construction, maintenance, and building faults.
Capacity to operate effectively in a political environment.
