The Opportunity
Bundaberg Regional Council is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join the team as Safety Business Partner. This is an opportunity to contribute to the safety culture of the Council through mentoring of staff and partnering with Management around Safety related matters.
As the Safety Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and effective management of the Council's safety objectives. The position reports to the Manager Work, Health and Safety and provides input in the research, planning and strategic development of safety initiatives in the Bundaberg region.
Key Responsibilities
Experience in the delivery of legislated health monitoring programs
Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making and ensure alignment with safety plans
Coach leaders and mentor staff in safety related matters
Engage key stakeholders to ensure effective business partnership
Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, code of practice, industry best practice and government policy
Conduct workplace assessments, inspections and investigations using best practice industry tools and methods
Prepare and conduct training and toolbox talks, along with attending Safety related committees and meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications in a relevant discipline are essential
Strong knowledge of legislative health monitoring programs
Strong working history in safety, preferably with a broad range of exposure to various disciplines
An advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to foster strong working relationships and drive Safety culture.
