The Whitsunday Regional Council seeks a senior and influential Human Resources leader to take a leading role in the development of a workplace culture that is focused high performance and customer service.
The council has recently appointed a new CEO, and the MHR will be a key counsel on all HR matters and will be an advocate and implementer of his vision for the organisation.
The Opportunity
The Manager Human Resources reports to the Council's Chief Executive and works very closely with the Council's Executive Leadership Team.
This role has a mix of high-level strategic contribution and management responsibilities. The Manager is a key adviser to the Council's CEO and executive leadership team and works across council's functional areas on both operational and strategic human resources challenges.
The role leads a team of professional human resources staff, fulfilling the functions of employee relations, reward and recognition, recruitment, and succession planning. There are significant opportunities for improvement of the HR team's systems and processes and improving service through the HR Business Partner model.
