  • Competitive remuneration pkg: $168,273 – $191,218 + super + lease back vehicle option

Tweed Shire Council, located in one of Australia's most picturesque regions, is seeking an accomplished financial leader to oversee its $300 million annual budget and accounting for $4.5 billion in assets. This role is critical in driving financial sustainability, fostering innovation and ensuring statutory compliance.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, the Manager Financial Services will lead a team of 25 staff across offices in Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads. This role encompasses strategic financial planning, statutory reporting and operational finance, while acting as the Responsible Accounting Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive financial planning and reporting to align with council's long-term goals.

  • Manage revenue, debt recovery and operational finance functions.

  • Oversee flood recovery grants and funding administration.

  • Lead a multi-skilled team to deliver responsive client services, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and a focus on best practices and continuous improvement.
