The Shire is seeking an experienced Manager Finance and Administration. To be responsible and lead the effective operation of Council's administrative, finance and procurement functions, ensuring appropriate corporate governance is developed and maintained to meet legislative requirements and community expectations. Leadership and expert financial advice to the Elected Members, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team is part of the brief.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager Finance and Administration leads a team of eight staff and oversees an annual budget of $27 Million. Council's capital expenditure for 2021/2022 is estimated at $6 million with current Assets of $267 Million. Council employs approximately 80 staff and the Shire has a population of roughly 800 residents.
Opportunities and Challenges
The position has very broad responsibilities that span Local Government accounting practices. The successful applicant must have the necessary skills and experience to recommend changes which would facilitate better services to customers, improve efficiency, reduce costs and contribute positively and effectively to Council's Corporate Plan.
In addition to leading Council's financial functions, this leadership role is responsible for the effective delivery of the administrative functions of customer service, records management and information technology.
