The Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council (NPARC), located in the far north of Queensland's Cape York, is seeking a Manager Finance to lead and manage all strategic and operational finance responsibilities for Council.

The Manager Finance will provide expert advice to the Executive Leadership team and managers across Council while leading a team of 10 finance staff. This role will suit a manager with outstanding financial management skills and a passion for community development.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver financial planning, reporting and advice to the Council, executive leadership team and managers across the organisation.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team in delivering customer-focused financial services.
• Prepare budgets, statutory accounts and other financial documents in accordance with the legislation, accounting standards and stakeholder requirements.
• Ensure council complies with legislation and financial policy.

Qualifications, skills, and attributes:

• Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related field or relevant experience.
• A proven ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in a similar-sized organization.
• Advanced software and systems skills.
