Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking a Manager Development Assessment to manage the overall operations of the Development Assessment department.
Reporting to the Director Development Services, the Manager Development Assessment will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Council's strategic and operational plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Council's Development Assessment program of work in accordance with Council's Corporate Plan and legislative requirements.
- Build a high-performance team who are results orientated and focused on delivering outstanding customer service to Council's stakeholder groups.
- Develop highly effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Provide professional advice to support Council's representation at tribunals and forums.
Personal Attributes and Qualifications Required:
- Substantial experience in a similar role in Local Government, or a role within another industry sector that will enable the transition of skills to Local Government.
- Experience leading and building a high-performance development assessment team.
- Advanced ability to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written ability with a solution focused mindset.
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline.
