Balonne Shire Council is seeking a Manager Assets and Projects to lead and manage the delivery of major infrastructure projects and oversee management of Council's facility maintenance and GIS services. As the Manager Assets and Projects, you will guide and develop the operational team to build capability, encourage a positive safety culture and promote continuous improvements for best practice policies and procedures.
Opportunities and Challenges:
- Influence and lead project steering teams for infrastructure projects.
- Develop, implement and maintain asset management plans.
- Manage project planning to ensure adequate resources are allocated for the operational team, contractors, plant and equipment.
- Inspire, manage and lead change initiatives to develop the operational team's capabilities.
- Establish positive work relationships across the organisation, contractors, industry stakeholders and the community
- Deliver projects on time and meet budget and quality guidelines.
Qualifications, skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure project management within Local Government or related entity.
- Demonstrated knowledge in contemporary asset management principles, processes and systems.
- Diploma in Project Management (or higher) and experience in a similar role.
- Formal qualifications in Civil Engineering - highly regarded. (not essential)
- High level of customer service and communication skills.
