About the Role
The North Burnett Regional Council is seeking a General Manager Works to provide strategic, financial and operational leadership of Infrastructure and Technical Services that enhance the liveability of the North Burnett Region. Asset and Fleet Program Management, Road Networks, Construction, Maintenance and new Business Development for the Works Department will be key functions of this role.
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager Works will work with the Senior Executive Team to develop and implement strategy across the organisation with a "one team" approach to provide excellent service to the community.
The General Manager Works will have financial management responsibility for a budget of over $40 million and lead a workforce of more than 90 employees.

About the Person
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing all aspects of a diverse Civil Works Program. A tertiary qualification in Engineering and RPEQ registration is highly desirable. Strong skills in Asset and Fleet Management, Project Management, Estimation and Civil Design are essential as is the ability to assess departmental performance and bring improvements and efficiencies.

The North Burnett Regional Council came into existence on the 15 March 2008 and resulted in the amalgamation of 6 Shires - Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Perry and Biggenden into the new North Burnett Regional Council. The elected Council is the law-making body and consists of the Mayor and 6 Councillors. The North Burnett Region covers 19,708 square kilometres with the topography of the region being diverse from fertile farmland to rugged geographical formations.
