Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking an experienced and engaging Leader to provide strategic and operational leadership to Council’s department of Communities.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Communities has responsibility for Connected Communities, Flood Mitigation, Planning and Land Management, Resource Recovery and Environmental Health, Emergency Management and Community Resilience, Parks and Recreation, Public Relations and Events.
Council is seeking a future focused leader to join their Executive Leadership Team and contribute to a positive organisational culture that delivers on Council’s strategic plans and aligns to its values.
Qualifications, skills, and attributes
Experience leading multi-faceted teams encompassing strategic planning, service delivery and operational management.
Ability to understand, interpret, administer and comply with relevant local government policies and applicable legislation, to ensure risk management and compliance within statutory requirements.
Proven ability to communicate, negotiate and consult effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including Council members, community groups and private sector entities.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire positive work practices, motivate and develop multi-skilled teams and foster a positive workplace culture to achieve organisational goals.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and or significant management experience within local government. Post graduate qualifications are highly regarded.
