The Director is a key member of Council's highly regarded executive leadership team and contributes to the strategy and leadership of the organisation. The council is undergoing a culture change programme, and the Director will be a visible and active leader in the creation of a positive, productive and values-based culture.
The CEO expects the Director to invest their time, skills and experience in performance, change management, stakeholder engagement and policy setting, and to engage their management team and organisation in the operational work of the Directorate.
The Directorate is undertaking several large-scale projects which will prepare the community for growth and provide high standards of service. These include;

- Feasibility studies and development of a regional waste facility and aligned services,
- A range of community, and organisational sustainability initiatives within the portfolio, including water re-use, sustainable energy and carbon mitigation activities.
Experience in executive leadership in local government or a local government-aligned utility, and a working history that demonstrates your ability to foster an environment of organisational performance, customer service and collaboration is essential.
This is a four-year full-time executive contract position.
