The Director of Engineering is a key leadership role within Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council's Senior Leadership team. The Director provides leadership and expert advice in the delivery of Council's roads, drainage structures, water supply, sewerage, parks, buildings, structures, and airport services.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Construction and Maintenance Manager to grow your career in a supportive work environment, while contributing to the opportunities, growth and prosperity of the Doomadgee Community.
Responsibilities:
- Construction and maintenance team management and development.
- Development and strategic direction of Council's infrastructure service delivery to the community.
- Project manage external consultants and contractors to meet program deliverables.
- Management of operational and capital expenditure budget.
Success Profile:
- Demonstrated experience in senior operational management of construction and maintenance services in local government or similar entity. (Preferably within a remote location).
- Civil engineering qualifications (or similar).
- Organisational leadership and people management skills, Indigenous cultural awareness and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver key objectives effectively.
- Team player who will work with and, where required mentor staff and share knowledge with peers.
