Gympie Regional Council is seeking a Coordinator Planning Scheme Program to lead and deliver Council's Planning Scheme, supporting Council's vision of providing a liveable, prosperous and well-designed region that strengthens the local community.
This pivotal role reports to the Manager - Planning Strategy and Major Projects and will play a significant part in boosting the local economy while supporting responsible environmental management. You will lead and coordinate the preparation, enhancement, implementation and maintenance of Council's strategic planning policy framework, including:
- Managing major strategic planning projects contributing to the delivery of an endorsed annual work program
- Leading, coordinating and delivering effective community engagement processes to inform Planning Scheme review
- Acting as the senior authority and provide expert advice on matters relating to Council's Planning Scheme

About the Person
You will use your project management expertise and qualifications as a town planner to lead the preparation, enhancement, implementation and maintenance of Council's strategic planning policy framework. Your knowledge of community engagement principals will be an asset.
