Charters Towers Regional Council is seeking an experienced and highly engaged Chief Financial Officer to lead the Corporate Solutions Portfolio at Council.
Reporting to the Director Corporate and Community, the Chief Financial Officer will provide leadership and guidance to the Finance, Procurement, Rating and Information Technology teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead financial and management accounting services to ensure financial sustainability of Council while meeting all statutory obligations.
- Build the financial performance of council's business units through analysis, review and capacity building of non-financial managers.
- Lead, develop and motivate staff to create a high-performance culture.
- Lead the finance, procurement, Council rates and IT services in the delivery of effective and efficient services to key stakeholder groups.
Skills, attributes and qualifications:
- Experience implementing best-practice systems and driving organisational change projects involving culture, capability, performance, and process improvements.
- Experience engaging employees, enhancing operational efficiency and delivering excellent customer service.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance. CPA highly regarded.
