Job Description

The Douglas Shire Council has an exciting opportunity available for an Asset Management officer.

This is a key role in the organisation and Council is seeking applications from candidates with previous experience in leading the review and development of Strategic Asset Management Plans. Apply your theoretical and practical expertise in the development, coordination and review of processes, procedures and systems for asset management.

Your experience in data management and Graphical Information Systems will be essential for success in the role as well as your professional relationship building skills and ability to communicate at all levels with a range of customers and Council Officers.

Key Duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Ensure asset management processes, systems and registers comply with legislation and relevant accounting standards and guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of the asset depreciation budget.
  • Provide a high level of analysis and expertise on the interpretation of Council's assets.

Essential experience and qualification include:

  • Bachelor of Engineering.
  • Experience in the development, coordination and review of processes, procedures and systems for asset management;
  • Working knowledge of asset management theory including NAMS.PLUS and ISO 55000;
  • Demonstrated experience in data management and Graphical Information Systems (GIS);

Team fit will be critical to success in this role. Council are seeking candidates who can demonstrate integrity, maturity, excellent communication skills and keenness to work collaboratively with an established and high performing team.
