Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator | Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council

The Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council (NPARC) is seeking an experienced Workplace, Health & Safety Coordinator to review and implement an online Work Health Safety Management System.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate the delivery of Council's Workplace Health and Safety program based on a risk management model of safety.
- Influence Council's staff at all levels to continuously advance the safety and wellness culture through a range of strategies
- Ensure effective governance of the safety management system aimed at regulatory compliance through the development of policy, establishing and assisting with safety audits, establishing effective safety committees, and regular reporting on compliance to the relevant regulatory bodies.
- Delivery of training in safety that builds and maintains staff commitment to and competency in safety.
- Maintain policies and procedures and provide advice on Council's legislative obligations WH&S and rehabilitation.
Qualifications, skills and attributes:
- Knowledge and experience in the delivery of a Workplace Health and Safety Program
- WH&S and Workplace Rehabilitation Qualifications
- Experience fostering a culture of customer service and high performance.
- Well developed skills in implementing systems of safe work practice.
