Maranoa Regional Council is seeking a motivated communications professional to join its Corporate Communications team in the newly created position of Senior Corporate Communications Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a broader role with genuine variety, strong mentorship and exposure to high-profile projects early in your career.
Working closely with the Manager Corporate Communications, Councillors and executives across the organisation, you will contribute to a fast-paced portfolio spanning media relations, digital communications, executive communications, community engagement, videography and graphic design.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Manager Corporate Communications with coordinating team workflow, priorities and day-to-day communications delivery.
Provide guidance, mentoring and practical support to Communications Officers to help build capability across the team.
Prepare media releases, speeches, briefing notes, public information materials and executive communications.
Deliver content across social media, websites, newsletters, community publications and digital platforms.
Contribute to major projects including Annual Report production, Operational Plan communications, Bottle Tree Connect and regional promotional initiatives.
Support emergency communications, community engagement activities, visual content production and time-sensitive public information responses.
About You
This opportunity will suit someone already operating at a senior communications level or a developing communications professional ready to take the next step in their career.
Experience across media, communications, journalism, marketing, digital content or graphic design will be highly regarded. Local government experience is advantageous.
