  • Lead Council's integrated People, Culture and Safety portfolio and influence organisational performance.
  • Drive workforce strategy, organisational culture and leadership capability across the organisation.
  • Cash salary of $153k to $180k (neg) + superannuation + private use motor vehicle.

Kempsey Shire Council is seeking an accomplished Group Manager People, Culture and Safety to lead its integrated People, Culture and Safety portfolio. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to influence workforce strategy, organisational culture and organisational capability while partnering with the Executive Leadership Team to deliver Council's long-term priorities.

Reporting to the Director Corporate and Commercial, you will provide strategic leadership across workforce planning, organisational development, industrial relations, work health and safety, learning and development and employee wellbeing. As Council's trusted advisor on people and safety matters, you will play a key role in strengthening leadership capability, enhancing organisational performance and positioning Council as an employer of choice.

Leading a capable and committed team, you will foster a collaborative, business partnering approach that supports managers, develops people capability and delivers practical, contemporary people and safety solutions across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading Council's integrated People, Culture and Safety portfolio and delivery of the Workforce Management Plan.
  • Providing strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team on workforce, industrial relations, culture and safety matters.
  • Driving organisational culture, leadership capability and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Leading contemporary work health and safety, wellbeing and injury management practices.
  • Mentoring and developing a capable team while building strong partnerships across the organisation.

About You
You are an experienced senior People, Culture & Safety leader with strong industrial relations expertise and demonstrated success influencing organisational outcomes. You bring strategic thinking, sound judgement and a collaborative leadership style, with the ability to build trusted relationships, develop capability and provide practical advice across all levels of an organisation.
