North Burnett Regional Council is seeking a people-centred General Manager Corporate and Community to join the Executive Leadership team in delivering Council's vision for Council and Community.
The past three years have been a period of change in the organisation, with the elected members and executive leadership team well on the path to setting and implementing strategies and plans and consolidating structure to achieve the organisation's financial sustainability goals and deliver council services, while balancing service performance and delivery challenges in a geographically diverse region.
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager Corporate and Community will provide strategic leadership to the Corporate and Community Directorate in a rapidly changing and complex environment.
The General Manager will lead approximately 90 staff across environmental health and waste, compliance, natural resource management, planning & development, financial services, people & performance, WHS, ICT, libraries & customer service, community development, sport & recreation and community engagement. The General Manager will also be responsible for delivering council's strategic and community plans including financial plans, rating and revenue plans and community plans.
This role will suit an experienced local government leader who thrives in a challenging environment. You will need strong people leadership skills, the ability to work effectively and productively with Councillors and community, project management capability, superior communication, critical thinking and personal integrity. Experience managing a dispersed workforce in a regional location will be highly regarded. A track record in the pursuit of quality services will be essential in the success of this role.
