The Shire of Ashburton is seeking an experienced Director Infrastructure Services to lead the delivery of key programs in the booming Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The Director will bring a strategic approach to the management of the Shire's Infrastructure Directorate, which includes Engineering Operations, Road Maintenance and Renewal, Asset Management, Project Delivery, Waste Management, Parks and Gardens and Fleet Management.
There are several significant capital projects underway, with large budgets and a high volume of work, and we are seeking candidates that have advanced project and stakeholder management capabilities.
Reporting to the CEO and leading a multidisciplinary team of 70 staff, the Director plays a key role in constructing and maintaining the infrastructure that enhances the economic growth and prosperity of the region.
The overarching leadership responsibilities of the Director include:
- Providing leadership, integrated planning and delivery, project leadership, and operational management of the Directorate.
- Providing expert advice and technical guidance to the Executive, Council and internal stakeholders.
- Play an integral role in the Executive Leadership Team, guiding and implementing the strategic direction of the organisation.
- Reinforcement of a positive workforce culture with a focus on performance and capacity building.
The Ashburton Shire has a population of approximately 10,000 residents and covers an area of 105,647 km2. The shire's administration centre is located in the town of Tom Price with the towns of Paraburdoo, Onslow and Pannawonica forming the Shire of Ashburton.
