The Business Manager Technical Services for Goulburn Mulwaree Council oversees the management of the Council’s civil asset infrastructure, focusing on the timely delivery of outcomes in asset management, civil design and project completion. The Business Manager plays a pivotal role in the development and execution of capital works programs, ensuring that asset management systems are effectively implemented and that Floodplain Risk Management objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong, hands-on leadership by actively engaging with teams on the ground, fostering a collaborative, safe and results-driven environment and promoting adherence to policy and procedure.
Leverage civil infrastructure expertise to guide operational improvements and deliver high-quality outcomes in capital works, asset management and Floodplain Risk Management.
Lead the management and delivery of Council's civil asset infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion of asset management, civil design and project objectives.
Address financial concerns, including special rate variation, by improving operational practices and streamlining processes for blue-collar workers to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
Drive culture improvement by empowering teams, providing clear responsibilities and working closely with team leaders and management to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Degree in Civil Engineering with experience in asset management or emerging leadership in this field.
Extensive experience in asset life cycle management, engineering design, stormwater and floodplain management and traffic engineering.
Proven leadership skills in managing multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring and achieving high-quality outcomes within time and budget constraints.
Strong communication (both written and verbal), budget management and interpersonal skills.
Experience in preparing technical briefs, business cases and capital work programs.
